With over 36 years of experience in the dental equipment service industry, I launched my independent business on the South Coast of England in 1988. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a diverse range of settings, from NHS clinics to high-end private practices, always with the goal of exceeding client expectations.
My technical training and hands-on experience with nearly all major dental equipment brands have equipped me to diagnose and resolve issues swiftly and efficiently. I leverage modern communication tools, such as video calls and photo sharing, to assist clients remotely—often restoring functionality and minimising downtime in real time.
I’ve designed and built entire dental practices, providing full project management services, and have extensive experience with smaller upgrades and urgent equipment replacements. I pride myself on offering practical, cost-effective solutions when time and budget are critical. Maintaining a comprehensive stock of essential parts in my service vehicle has helped me achieve a first-visit fix rate of approximately 98% to date.
I am a strong advocate for routine preventative maintenance, emphasising its role in prolonging equipment lifespan and ensuring optimal performance.
After selling my original business in February 2024 and relocating to Aberdeenshire for a ‘semi-retired’ lifestyle, I soon realised my passion for the dental industry was far from gone. Recognising a gap for experienced independent engineers in the region, I re-entered the field with renewed enthusiasm. Today, I continue to visit local practices, providing expert service with a personal touch.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, I am an avid enthusiast of outdoor activities, especially those that connect me with nature. I also have a passion for cooking and love experimenting with new recipes and techniques. Visiting art galleries is something I cherish, as it allows me to draw inspiration from a variety of artistic forms. Music, particularly vinyl records, is a significant part of my life, and I enjoy expanding my collection.
I’m a proud father to my son Gus, an osteopath, who is relocating from Sussex to Aberdeenshire, and my daughter Lily, a sports teacher at a boarding school in West Sussex. I live in Royal Deeside, with my wife Živa, who is Gastroenterology Consultant, at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
